Hello forum community,

at our construction site, the sealing at the terrace exit has not yet been done. We have a PSK door there. Outside, the terrace covering is supposed to be drawn into the "reveal." The reveal is basically the brick width of 11.5 cm. The terrace covering should be approximately the same height as the finished floor inside.

Now, I have hardly any knowledge about this topic, but there is the internet. Google hint: "the forgotten connection"

It is probably clear that "special measures" (e.g. a drainage channel) must be taken if the "connection height" is less than 15 cm. Question: How is this connection height exactly defined?

It is unclear regardless of this how the sealing below the PSK door should be connected to the base sealing. The base sealing is located behind the bricks; basically, a correct connection is no longer possible for me. Other builders have told me (and also shown photos) that this is not so important. Mostly, they simply worked very generously with liquid plastic.

Who has current experience here or can give tips? Unfortunately, my architect does not want to do detailed planning and leaves the matter to the roofer.

It is important that the terrace has a slope outward and a drain - if the craftsmen do their job properly, this is not a problem and a separate drainage channel is not necessary.

Bold, completely without knowledge of the situation and restrictions.

Is there an overhang? Which side is the weather side? How high is the threshold of the PSK door?

What kind of architect is that? Did you threaten him with money? Do you have a photo or detail of the planning [without sealing]?

Hello,

Nofret's statement pretty much matches what I have heard so far. However, this "we have always done it this way" always makes me suspicious.

I don't have a close-up photo, attached is the best available. The threshold is about 6 cm above the finished floor. The roof overhang measures a good 50 cm. This is the south side, the weather comes from the west. At the moment, I have not even threatened the architect yet

If you want to play it safe, then go with [Rinne], if that reassures you.

: How did you ultimately solve the issue? It looks very similar for us.
