Dear forum,
I am contacting you again with a few questions
I want to fill in the back of my house/property as part of the facade renovation to reach the surrounding ground level, dismantle the meager balcony, and build a proper terrace.
Since the basement walls are now exposed, I have the opportunity to waterproof them using a thick coating. Now it’s time for detailed planning. Here I have excavated about 30-40 cm below the top edge of the terrain and seemingly found the foundation.
Is this a fieldstone foundation or a strip foundation that has additionally been filled with stones/rubble? How should the fillet be formed here, as I don’t have a classic upstand at the connection between the floor slab/strip foundation, and I apply the thick coating about 15 cm below the base (as I otherwise only know it)? As can be seen in the pictures, the floor slab is at the level of the entrance door.
Perhaps you have some tips for me on how to proceed sensibly. The filling, laying the drainage, etc., will be done by a landscaping gardener.
The house dates from 1958.
I would be grateful for your help!
Best regards from Cologne
