Normally, a high floor starter profile is installed underneath, for example. This can be sealed from the outside with a self-adhesive membrane, and from the inside the screed is applied in front of it.

In my opinion, sealing from the outside is one of the most important points in detailed planning, especially for all floor-to-ceiling elements. Don't do a botched job there!

Hello guys,

here is the photo of the garage door and the gap. I measured, about 10 cm.

To avoid any misunderstandings:
- it is a garage
- the door is on the back side
- we wanted to do the door in EL, which I now regret, because I thought it would simply be placed on the screed and therefore the risk of a gap wouldn’t occur
- please no accusations, I am really annoyed with myself

I hope you can help me somehow seal that gap. Or should I better hire a window professional for it?
Oh man... I could kick myself

Does anyone have a suggestion?

I would like to clamp down a floor transition profile, but somehow you can't find any. There is hardly anything about it online. Or do they have a different name?

Google search second result might fit. Alternatively, contact the door manufacturer, they should also have something suitable available.

Yes, I had found that too. But I’m afraid it won’t fit.

Or what do you think about me simply having the gap under the door filled with screed? The gap is about 9.5cm and the screed will come up to about 8cm (at least I think I remember it that way). If there is a remaining gap, I can then pull through the EPDM tape/foil/cover ... and thus seal it somehow, right? For safety, I will install a drainage channel in front of the threshold to the garage door so that water can additionally drain away there.

What do you think?
