I am not a fan of hard bargaining, I am a fan of "fair for both sides." I neither want to be ripped off nor do I want bargains at the expense of the craftsmen. If someone offers me prices from the start that clearly deviate, there is no further discussion for me, then I look for another partner or supplier. On the other hand, I also try not to push anyone who is already in the reasonable price range any further.
That's why I love the internet... no annoying negotiating, just buy ;) I've already done it like that with my new car, unfortunately not yet possible with the house ;)
No craftsman has yet been forced to make a deal that is not economical. Good negotiations usually only lead to market-based prices. Healthy craft businesses – I can assure you – still have enough margin at the end of the day to survive well. The bad ones fail for reasons other than the negotiations or are doomed to fail from the start.
Usually, the self-employed successful craftsman has more net income than many builders here in the forum.
