I have a question about three points
1. We are currently working on the roof conversion, using insulation, insulation between the rafters plus a vapor barrier. Now the drywall installer did not properly execute the wall connection of the foil. He taped the overlaps of the foil, but at the wall there are small open gaps in the overlaps of the foil because he only made a sealing bead on the wall and did not seal the overlaps individually. The drywall panels are already installed. His response to my defect is that a vapor barrier would also let moisture out again and such small spots don’t matter.
2. Why can boxed-in areas be filled with insulating wool without the insulation getting wet, but apparently not in the roof?
3. We insulated the roof up to the gable peak and additionally the ceiling between floors. Is one vapor barrier in the living area enough, or should the vapor barrier also be made in the unused gable area?
It would be nice if you could answer my questions
