Hello,
I'm going to make myself unpopular now...
we are currently busy planning our house construction and have already reserved a plot of land.
The building regulations state that only non-glossy red, orange, and brown tones are allowed as colors for the roof.
However, we would prefer anthracite and glossy, or at least dark red glossy!
Our builder said you can try to get a special permit through the architect. Has anyone had experience with this?
Are there possibly other options?
High-gloss roof tiles/slates are a problem for air traffic and for good reason are banned in some areas close to airports. What is so difficult about accepting the textual regulations? You seem to like the plot, don't you?
Double-glazed roof tiles, like those in the picture by "emer," are timelessly beautiful and also less prone to moss growth (which I also find funny, thinking of expensively constructed extensive roofs).
Two of the houses already standing there have a glossy dark red roof, in one case I know he is simply hoping he won't have to reroof, in the other case I don't know whether a special permit exists or not.
Does anyone have helpful advice, or is there absolutely nothing that can be done?
The only applicable advice is to ask the responsible building planning office for an exemption from the development plan. If that is rejected, I would refrain from any "backroom dealings" of any kind. It can – it just needs the right person to pass by the neighbor’s construction site – become quite expensive and complicated to act on your own!
Rhenish regards
