Roller shutter cover upper floor - plastic or aluminum? Experiences?

For increased burglary protection, you have to opt for extruded aluminum with synthetic resin filling. In addition, there is a locking lift-up guard and more stable outer rails. Unfortunately, it costs a pretty penny. Upstairs, I would save myself the effort. Burglars look for victims, not a sporting challenge...

Electric aluminum roller shutters are slightly cheaper than electric blinds from a well-known company. We had both offered for our 3m lift-and-slide door, among other things. Aluminum roller shutters were €80 cheaper. So the decision was easy on what to take

Just for comparison. Aluminum is only used if technically nothing else is possible, if you don’t want blinds, or if you want a specific/dark color that should remain color-stable. Otherwise, aluminum roller shutters are financially nonsense.

My personal opinion.

Your experience now sounds to me more like you were offered a vastly overpriced aluminum roller shutter.

Maybe I did not express myself correctly. Roller shutter slats in aluminum with motor for 2x 3m lift-and-slide door = €1770 net Electric venetian blinds for 2x 3m lift-and-slide door = €1890 net There is nothing to interpret or to talk about an overpriced offer, otherwise the venetian blinds would not be in the normal price range. Aluminum slats just seem to be expensive.

Alupanzer seems simply expensive.

I repeat myself:
we have 4 floor-to-ceiling windows + a wide kitchen window with roller shutters. The additional cost for aluminum instead of plastic was 440 net.
I don’t consider that expensive now.
