we want to paint our stairwell with Knauf EasyPutz this weekend. Now we are wondering how to best go about it.
We have already painted several rooms with it and are (by now :)) a bit more experienced.
Our stairs are an open quarter-turn double-stringer staircase (classic terraced house stairs). We can’t reach the wall behind the steps, so we have to unscrew the steps.
We can’t manage the entire height in one go. We thought the following:
- remove all steps up to the next floor.
- paint from the floor up to just above the steps
- put the steps back on
- and then the next floor
And work our way from the basement toward the attic like that
This way, any edges that might form between the floors would be just above the stair steps, which is certainly less noticeable than in the middle of the wall.
Do you have any other idea?
if you advise against the easyPutz, what would you recommend as an alternative to rolled plaster?
Exactly, like 80s sandpaper. :( Use cotton natural fiber, it is easy to work with and you can stop and continue whenever you want. Repairing is also easy.but it feels very much like sandpaper.
