Hello,

I am currently dealing with the insurance mentioned in the subject line, including [Feuerrohbauversicherung], which is usually included.

For 3 days now, I have been comparing and researching. And every time I find a tariff, I read somewhere that the insurance or the broker is a rip-off and does not pay out when it comes to claims.

Now I am at the point where I would sign up online with HUK. Not the cheapest, but at least everything seems to be included, including gross negligence and unlimited coverage amounts.

But even here I mostly read about problems with claims settlement. Homeowners insurance is one of the most important insurances and at the same time not cheap. I would like to have the certainty that payment will be made in the event of a claim.

What are your experiences? Whom can you recommend? Have you ever had a claim, and did it go to your satisfaction?

Every insurance is great until you need it. Then they are all bad. A dilemma.

We have residential building + household contents insurance from the same provider. During a storm, our terrace wall (divider to the neighbor) was knocked down. Both the floorboards of the terrace and objects on the terrace were damaged. Both insurances (permanently installed parts like wall, terrace = residential building, furniture = household contents) paid without any fuss. I’ll gladly send you the name of the insurer via PM – I don’t want to advertise here. I just don’t want the statement: to stand as is.

It was also a bit provocative. I just wanted to express that insurance companies do not earn their money through claims settlement.

It seems much more important to me to clarify what is NOT insured, for example to ask what happens if the offspring flood the bathroom and cause damage, what happens in case of damage caused by groundwater, landslides... and so on and so forth.

Hello, we have a new building and have dealt with it intensively. Price and tariff were best at Sparkassenversicherung (even though I am not a fan of Sparkassen). We also had home insurance, legal protection, etc. checked and switched there as well. You get the famous bundle tariffs. But we also came from Aachener Münchener, which is also very expensive.

For my part, I would not want to take out such insurance online.
