We (24 years old, female & 29 years old, male) want to renovate an inherited house from his parents. We have already had some discussions with the architect and are now interested in your opinions. The exterior walls of the house will remain standing and will be partially supplemented. The attached illustrations show what will be new (red) and which walls will remain (black).

Now to the catalog:

The spiral staircase is already present in the house and must remain for cost reasons. However, the architect wants to renew it and highlight it through the large entrance area.

We are very excited now!

I only see EG and UG now. Is that correct?

I would enlarge the bedroom at the end and shorten the cul-de-sac corridor.
I would keep the small window in this corridor by the terrace but move it opposite the children's room door.
In the bathroom, you can place the toilet right at the front opposite a small sink and draw a partition wall into the proper bathroom. Here, swap the toilet and bathtub, draw a wall with a sliding door.

Thanks for the answer :)
We have already forwarded the thing with the bedroom as we wanted it that way. And the bathroom and kitchen are just simply drawn by the architect and have no plan yet.

Yes, we only have the ground floor and basement, but as can be seen in the section, the basement is not underground on two sides. Due to the raised terrain, no additional storey is allowed to be added on top.

Sorry, I don't like the thing at all. When I have to go to the toilet while watching TV, I can get across the yard faster than through the house. Then this long mouse corridor is, in my opinion, just a waste of space. It's also not really clear what the starting situation is. Maybe you could draw the current situation again, because if I remove everything in red, no house remains. Best with measurements, then we could play around a bit again. :)

Does the kitchen have to be in that corner at the back? How flexible are you?

The kitchen and living room should simply get enough light!

I only have approximate measurements because the architect has the plans of the old house and has only sent us such plans so far.

Here I have reduced the house to the old floor plan.

The current living room is on the wrong side to also have sun in the evening.
The previous owner had no children and lived in the house only with her husband. That is why there is only one bedroom and a small sewing room.

It should also be mentioned that we would like to have two garages.

The measurements are based on the floor plan with the long hallway (my boyfriend really likes this, we already have it in the current apartment).
