Hello dear house building forum community,

I recently purchased a penthouse on the 7th floor and now want to renovate (have it renovated). Specifically, about 20m² of concrete wall d=15cm, about 150 m² of wooden flooring, 2 complete bathrooms, the kitchen, and some old radiators are to be removed.

I have already carried out this kind of work several times, but always on the ground floor or the 1st floor.

However, I now face the question of transporting the material out, as well as bringing the new material into the apartment. I would find transport via the passenger elevator very cumbersome and time-consuming, especially since there is still a staircase from the penthouse to the 6th floor. However, the apartment has a very large roof terrace; could the material be transported, for example, via a pulley system here? I was thinking of some kind of rotary davit... What options are there with certified approval and what should be considered, since the material would then, for example, be hoisted or lowered in front of the apartments below.

I would be very happy about an exchange of experience or suggestions for solutions.

Thank you very much in advance! :-)

Chute. Give radiators to the scrap dealer, they will take care of it. Roofers have straps for hoisting.

A chute with a construction debris container would also be my approach now.

Morning

Since quite a bit also needs to go back up, I would consider a ladder lift.

Hello everyone,

thank you first of all for the tips and suggestions! :-) For example, I didn’t even know the ladder elevator! I think it will probably come down to a combination of debris chute and ladder elevator. Fortunately, there is enough space on the roof terrace so that I can extensively store the demolition there and then go straight down the chute into a container in one go. Everything that doesn’t fit through there then via ladder or passenger elevator.

Does anyone else have any other ideas? Otherwise, thanks again and see you soon!
