Renovate: Can another covering be laid on parquet?

If the floor really starts to come loose during this, we will move on to Plan B and dismantle it. The original plan to cover the existing floor with PVC, aside from the moisture issue, would not work properly anyway. Part of the existing floor was covered with carpet and furniture. There the floor still looks very, very good. In other "open" areas, however, the wood has already warped extremely and is partially swelling. I think that would not produce a nice result either way.

Therefore: On the weekend, the floor will be sanded and sealed and then we will see how it works.

@ "Ben-man": Please let me know whether the planned procedure was successful! What type of wood is it anyway? Is it solid parquet in the form of parquet sticks or mosaic parquet in a cube pattern?
