Renegotiation of payment plan, please help

unfortunately, the general contractor is not budging at all, refers to the 5% contract performance bond, and considers the payment schedule non-negotiable.

The construction contract itself also pointed out some issues that could not be amended.

I will probably have to look elsewhere... However, the purchase of the property is only possible if you sign the construction contract beforehand.

Hello Lorie, nowadays you are foolish if you sell a plot of land without needing the money. That's why building plots are scarce and one tends to accept conditions that would have been considered unacceptable in the past. Nevertheless, if I were you, I would look for another plot of land, unless this is your dream plot. You should also consider that you might have to pay real estate transfer tax on the house if the plot and the house construction come from the same source.
