Hello,
in our single-family house (built in 1965), we still have a total of 9 asbestos-containing windowsills installed. Is it possible to remove them yourself with protective clothing and dispose of them in big bags? I keep reading that the mortar/adhesive with which the windowsills are embedded can also contain asbestos. However, I don’t quite understand the reason behind this. Why would asbestos-containing mortar have been used exactly here? Wouldn’t such a windowsill hold with ordinary mortar?
Best regards
Andreas
