Such an electric scraper does a good job. With the hand and spatula it is tedious. That also takes far too long. A sanding machine should also do the job. So chemical stuff does not come into my house either.

This carpet adhesive can be quite stubborn. My husband uses a stripper like that and it comes off quite well with it. We used to use nitro-containing solutions for removal, but I am allergic to those. I can't tolerate that.

I am also faced with this task. I don't really feel like doing it, but what has to be done, has to be done. Unfortunately, this is not a water-soluble glue and only a machine helps here. So I rented the floor sanding machine ALPHA. This machine makes a good impression and the first attempt was promising. This machine has not been on the market for long, the dealer said, and it has improved enormously.

The weight is good and this machine weighs only 42 KG. That is simply good for transport. I also notice that during work, it almost runs by itself.

Hi,

Over the weekend we also removed the old carpet. There were actually large areas of this foam on the floor. I tried to remove it by hand, but that didn't work.

My husband borrowed a floor sander and that worked wonderfully. Such technology is definitely necessary and just makes the work easier.

Thank you very much for your information. We have this task coming up again, too. The last time we did it with an electric scraper. But that was also exhausting. Now we will rent such a sanding machine. I am curious to see how it works.
