Hello,
we recently bought a house from a developer. Before signing the purchase contract, I was assured that moving an interior wall by about 60cm would not be a problem (unfortunately I do not have this in writing, only a sketch and notes from the meeting). Now I have noticed that the wall was not moved. When I asked the site manager about it, he initially could not remember the appointment (later he could) but then said he would advise against it because the building authority might object to this and it is quite possible that we would have to undo everything (which of course would be very time-consuming and expensive if the parquet and everything else had to be redone). By the way, the neighbor made the same change and this obviously was not objected to. Here is my question:
1. To what extent does this change actually violate building regulations?
2. How likely is it that something like this will actually be objected to?
I am somehow very unsettled because I also have a bit of a feeling that the site manager wants to talk me out of it because he messed up the whole thing himself and now a bigger effort and costs have arisen because of him. I really hope that someone can help me as soon as possible.
