Hello,
What options are there to create a recess of the size 60x40x5cm when installing the screed?
The total height of the screed is 15cm.
Should I make a wooden structure 60x40x15, leave out the entire area, and then pour 10cm afterwards?
Or do I get, for example, Styrofoam in the size 60x40x5cm and have it incorporated and remove it later?

How is this usually handled?

I am an absolute amateur here, just want to prepare the corresponding tools, etc.

Best regards

Well, rather of the floor structure.

Counter question: where(for) should that make sense?

Great, thanks. Then I’ll simply prepare material with the appropriate dimensions and give it to the screed installer.

I wanted to create a small recess in a basement room without underfloor heating, where I can place a pump if necessary. My wall outlet is at +15, everything connected to it as well.
If water were to accumulate in the basement, I could relatively easily pump it out via this recess.
Good idea or not?

Only if the water knows that it should flow into this trough. Slope in the screed? What do you do to prevent the screed from getting wet on its way to the trough (where is the water supposed to come from)? Simply put, the trough is nonsense.

I agree with you. Normally, no water can stand on the basement floor. If, however, the washing machine, etc. leaks, it looks different. Couldn't most of the water here be pumped outside with relatively simple means (Of course, the rest would then have to be dried by other means)
