Off the cuff, I can’t help you much and I currently have little time for research. Furthermore, legal advice is reserved for the appropriate professions. I could only give hints on how to search anyway.
Since you haven’t fully explained your familial relationships, I cannot assess whether you fall somewhere under § 3 of the Real Estate Transfer Tax Act. I’m guessing stepbrothers. Paragraph 6 probably comes closest, but even brothers, in my view, are not a direct line, so stepbrothers wouldn’t fall under it either. Besides, it is described quite complexly. §6 paragraph 4 of the Real Estate Transfer Tax Act could possibly also apply if the acquisition process is not older than 5 years. Unfortunately, you did not note the months in the acquisition processes. However, I must admit that during my time at the tax office, I only dealt with real estate transfer tax in theory and never in practice.
How long is the objection period? If I were you, I would make an appointment with a tax advisor or a specialist lawyer for tax law and present the whole matter there. Maybe there are options as suggested by Tox, or a subsequent reversal, or something else. If the objection period expires this week and you can no longer get an appointment with the tax advisor, then to preserve the deadline, file the objection with the note that the justification will be submitted later.
