So when I think about how it has been raining continuously here in Saxony over the past weeks, every [Zisterne] would have been full for a long time. The water was standing on the meadows and fields here. Not much seeped away.
At the moment I live in an old mill directly by the stream. Fortunately, the [Talsperren] had enough capacity here, so the stream was full to the brim but stayed in the streambed. In 2002, unfortunately, the purpose of the [Talsperre] was not understood, so it was already well filled beforehand. :(
When I think about the last floods, it always rained for days beforehand or there was such a heavy shower that the ground could not absorb the water quickly enough and the water came down from the fields in torrents.
In both cases, no [Zisterne] helps.
