Hello everyone,

I have a question regarding the architect's fee. In our contract, it states for the energy saving ordinance proof that the fee is based on HOAI Appendix 1 1.2.1-1.2.3, alternatively on the basis of AHO (Fee table 1.4.).
Can I look somewhere to see how the fee according to HOAI or AHO is calculated?
Or what are the differences in the fee according to HOAI or AHO?

Best regards
haba

Even if you know both billing methods, there are so many variables involved that it is also at the discretion of the structural engineer / architect how high the invoice ultimately turns out.

Hello,

The fee is not the point in your question. Because HOAI, Annex 1, 1.2.1 only describes the scope of application (thus the basis of the fee) and the fee schedule 1.4 the costs eligible for the service Proof of Energy Saving Ordinance. Both “references” serve only the purpose of giving you a better understanding. There is no better or worse, or more expensive or cheaper; HOAI is binding equally for all architects.

Rhenish regards

Is the fee schedule available for viewing anywhere? I haven’t been able to find anything so far. In section 1.2.3 of the HOAI you can read the fee, it must be something similar in fee schedule 1.4 of the AHO, right?

There are HOAI calculators that you can find through a search engine. Maybe that helps?
