Question about the installation of the IKEA UDDEN extractor hood

Hello, I have mounted the Udden extractor hood on the wall. According to the installation instructions, the distance between the top edge of the stove and the bottom edge of the extractor hood should be 60 cm. Now, the distance between the top edge of the stove and the bottom edge of the extractor hood is 69 cm in my case. Is it absolutely necessary to maintain the 60 cm distance between the top edge of the stove and the bottom edge of the extractor hood, or does it not matter?

It’s really only about the determined extraction values/behavior. If you hang it higher, the extraction will also be "worse." Hanging it lower certainly interferes with cooking ;) (and can also become dangerous due to the grease residues in the filter, which it always is, so always change the filters regularly.

What could also be a factor are aesthetic reasons in conjunction with the tall cabinets on the left and right, but everyone has to decide that for themselves. And if the extractor hood is intended for venting outside, the path to the extraction pipe in the wall must of course be considered, but that should be the smallest problem.

It’s basically only about the extraction behavior; 9 cm higher should not be a big problem. It would be better, however, to adhere to the manufacturer’s test conditions.
