Only if it is done incorrectly. Q3 only works with lime finish. This also makes the lime-cement plaster baby-bottom smooth. It then cannot be distinguished from gypsum plaster. You don't scrape anything off at all.

Yes, but more difficult to work with (Löschkalk is caustic), probably not so ideal for DIY and there are hardly any craftsmen left who are interested in it. If you can do it yourself, of course it's great. You can also create surfaces that almost look like marble.

The original poster writes that he is getting Q3 and it will (probably) be lime-cement plaster. That is exactly why I replied.
But it is a normal job, nothing special.
Good gypsum plaster surfaces are also puttied and sanded.

But that doesn't mean they use the lime finish or are interested in it.

The work is not like with gypsum plaster due to the highly alkaline slaked lime (more protection needed). I mean, even the mixing takes longer (longer resting time needed) and the processing itself is more difficult because the lime finish is heavier and stickier. Gypsum is like curd cheese, lime filler more like cream cheese (and not the fluffy Bresso).

We have also only plastered and painted white. Of course, scuffs can't be avoided, but with us they are no big deal. Not that many occur. You can easily remove stains with a magic eraser. That way you don’t see them afterward either. For bigger stains, e.g. under the desk from socks, the only option is to repaint. Then you can see the difference, because the shade of white is a bit different. But you also have that with fleece. But that's like with all new things, at first every stain hurts, but that’s part of it. A house is lived in and accidents happen. You will never be able to avoid that. Visually, we think it’s beautiful like this and that was definitely the right decision. For us it is lime gypsum plaster (which is quite soft) with a thin layer of Knauf Super Finish on top. Overall Q3. We are very happy with it.

Then they also can't deliver Q3. No, the processing is comparable to gypsum. Lime plaster can also be processed mechanically.
