pungent smell in the bathroom

dried-out pipes actually smell like rotten eggs (if I remember how the unused drains in the floor at my old workplace smelled).

What is "a pungent smell" in this case? I interpret beissend as chemical...

Maybe this is the reason for the biting smell

Even though the smiley makes it understandable - the words actually reflect the cause. We also have two tiled showers. Especially with the shower that is not used very often, we also sometimes notice an unpleasant odor. Our construction manager said (after the sanitation workers had checked everything) that it could possibly be due to the dried-out siphon. In a flush-level shower, the siphon is smaller/shorter - so it can dry out faster. Especially with underfloor heating.

I will now also try the tip from - although this cannot be the ultimate solution in terms of "saving water."

I tried it this morning and can definitely check this evening if it still smells.
