Hello,

I would like to run a thicker power cable through a stainless steel flexible conduit (as shielding - halogen-free cables are not available shielded in that thickness). I don’t see a problem with that yet, but what about if I want to pull this stainless steel flexible conduit DN32 through a cable protection conduit DN75 with 3 moderate bends (about 90° per 1 meter) over a distance of 20 meters? Can that work? Has anyone tried that before? Ordering stainless steel flexible conduit by the meter has the disadvantage that it is unfortunately excluded from exchange. Therefore, I am grateful for any assessment or experience report.

Best regards

Shouldn't be a problem. I would first get a pull spiral. 30m cost between €10-€20. First test with that whether the pipe is even functional. And then use the spiral as a pull wire afterwards. One person pulls and another person wiggles the stainless steel corrugated pipe so that you don't get caught anywhere.

Thank you very much for the assessment. That is exactly how I had planned it, although the test of the pipe can be omitted since the channel has already been used by a transition cable (just without stainless steel corrugated pipe, but also quite strong in diameter).

Update: Pipe DN32 has been ordered and I hope it works - I will report back …. when the electrician has time, and although it doesn’t have to, it can take some time. Some dealers seem to be accommodating and are willing to accept returns of cut-to-length material under certain circumstances. I hope I won’t have to rely on that.

I have now alternatively ordered a DN25 "FLEXIBLE" and compared it. The power cable just barely fits through it as well, and it is definitely the better choice. So, if someone ever has a similar idea, then pay attention to the "flexible" (smaller corrugation pitch) or specifically ask the dealer. The pipe is a bit more expensive and is rarely stocked or offered.
