Process of construction planning & building - Is a preliminary contract with the construction company necessary?

Do you think it makes sense to get the first offers already a good two years before construction starts?

Not offers yet. Visiting, yes. The architects will want to push one contract and general contractors (without property) will rather dismiss it.

Hello ypg, we currently have 3 options in mind: 1. Construction through a prefab house company, solid construction (brick) 2. Construction through a prefab house company, wood but in solid construction method (no timber frame construction etc.) There are only a few German companies for this. 3. Classic construction through an architect with trade contracting For 1&2 we have our eye on the company Keilhofer, which has its production in Zwiesel (Bavarian Forest). An inspection and detailed offer will be obtained in due course.
