Our slats from the installation level run horizontally, so I have to fasten the cables/conduits somewhere. Unfortunately, the slats are outside the installation zones.
What kind of wool do you have? Our wood fiber insulation wool is already pretty dense, so it will be difficult to push a deep hollow wall box in. More so in the partition walls, since there is more space there and they are not completely filled with insulation.

Sounds exactly like with us and honestly, I hadn’t considered until now that this would be difficult/impossible with low depths. Installation level is 8cm + 1.5cm gypsum fiber. Going in are 6cm of these rather stiff wood fiber mats. That really only leaves 3.5cm depth for cables running behind the insulation and boxes lying in front of the insulation... :-/

Do you see any advantages in placing the insulation BEFORE the cables? That's how it is planned for us (and World-e) and I actually only see disadvantages in it at first: - Cables have to be painstakingly threaded through the insulation - You pierce the insulation, thus weakening it (surely negligible) - if the cables lie at the back, let's say with at least 1.5cm space requirement, then in our case 6cm insulation – from the 8cm installation depth there are only 0.5cm left for the hollow wall boxes. That somehow doesn't make sense, does it? I would find cables in front of the insulation much more sensible.

With us, we fastened the cables with cable clamps and perforated straps and left large loops (or rather, in the pictures the loops are open) – these were then pulled through the insulation. The wood fiber insulation used is so soft that you can pull it apart by hand. On the floor, we marked where the cables lie. Then the walls were closed with OSB and drywall, and only afterward were the holes drilled. For the flush-mount boxes, the insulation was carefully removed:

On the topic of insulation: Simply create space for the flush-mount boxes in the insulation? With a large hole saw or something?

If they are in front of the insulation, they can be drilled into more easily. And in my case, the battens for the installation layer are horizontal, so I can’t fasten them in front of the insulation. Except on the battens themselves, but then they would be outside the installation zone. And it would be easier to damage them when drywalling.

Hm ok, the fastening is definitely an argument, yes.

Thanks for the photos!
I had also thought about a hole saw, but I wasn’t sure if it would handle the soft material. And then there is definitely a big risk of hitting a cable with the saw. Then I hope that spreading it apart by hand really works.
With you, it’s apparently only about 2-3 cm thick mats.
