Hello,

some time ago we bought a Pax wardrobe with Lyngdal sliding doors (50-100-100-50). Assembling the wardrobe was okay, but the sliding doors are really heavy to install (also because of the weight). Now the doors seem to be properly hung. However, both strongly rub against each other on the last 20 cm (you can hear the aluminum scratching) and it really takes force to separate the doors again. What could be the reason? As mentioned, they seem to be properly hooked, but in the middle when closing the doors they unfortunately keep hitting each other. Thank you very much in advance!

Best regards Frank

Hello,

we have exactly the same problem with the PAX TONNES sliding doors. After carefully checking and going through all the assembly steps, we are absolutely sure that everything is assembled correctly, yet the outer door scratches the lower door with its screws at the top and can only be opened and closed with force or strength.
We have no idea what the cause is, and the lower door is already totally scratched even though the wardrobe hasn’t been properly put into use yet...
We would also be very grateful for a tip!

Best regards,
chrissi

Have you checked the lower guides to ensure they are in the correct groove and whether the wheels at the top run properly in the rail? That is usually the problem with our doors in the exhibition.

Hello,

the problem with the sliding doors bumping into each other also occurred with us. At first, we also thought that the assembly steps were followed exactly according to the instructions. However, after removing the doors and closely inspecting the frame brackets for the glass panels, we quickly discovered the error. The outer frame structures (the long aluminum rods on the right and left) for the inner door differ from those of the outer door. In our case, the frames were marked with an "A" sticker. So you absolutely have to make sure to use the two elements marked with "A" for the inner door. The long aluminum brackets for the outer door are not labeled. Although this is also shown in the instructions, an additional note would certainly have been helpful.

Regards

Dennis

Hello!

The answer from QUAM is exactly right! I had the same problem today and spent HOURS trying and adjusting and still scratched the doors.

It is incredibly frustrating when Ikea lets customers fall into the trap so easily with the individual parts. Of course, it is labeled, but when the parts are VERY VERY similar, you don’t look carefully to see if something with an "A" is different from the one without.

So, for my PAX UGGDAL I unscrewed the doors again, this time put the two long parts with the "A" together in the inner door and done – no more scratching.

Here again listed for the search engines so other “victims” can find this help faster:

There were no markings, letters, or anything similar on the outer edges for us (Pax Lyngdal). I also do not find any indication in the assembly instructions in this direction.

Unfortunately, our doors cannot be fully closed (closing each door individually to the left or right is no problem, but when both are closed at the same time, there is always a gap of about 10 cm on the side that is closed second).

Could this also be due to the magical letters in our case, or are there no such differences with Lyngdal?
