Hello Ikea fans,

a few weeks ago I bought Pax – unfortunately I only just got around to assembling it and I’m desperate...

among others, the following components (I’m leaving out the small stuff like shelves):
- 1x PAX (100cm wide/201cm high)
- 2x PAX 50cm wide/201cm high)
- 1x PAX-Lyngdal sliding door
- Komplement door closer
- 2x Komplement drawers (100cm wide)

Problem:
The wardrobe is standing, the sliding doors are hanging and move wonderfully. However, after I attached the door closers, the wide drawers cannot be pulled out. They hit the front door because it cannot be pushed further to the right, as the component which hooks into the door closer and closes the door surrounds the other door and therefore does not allow further movement to the right – I can’t describe it any other way...

Here are pictures of the "problem"

Here you can see how the drawer hits the door

This is because the front door cannot be pushed further to the right since the component from the left door closer surrounds the rear door and therefore it cannot be pushed further to the right...

And here you see that the suspension (upper guide rail – where the door opener is also attached) is already all the way to the right. So I cannot achieve any further shifting to the right here

Please help
Best regards
Miranda

Hi,
in the last picture there is also a plastic clip shown, the one with an "R" on it. If you loosen the screw, you can still adjust the position of the clip. Try if you can move it further to the right. If that works, try if the doors can now be slid further to the right.

Andreas

I don’t want to annoy you, but unfortunately you have mounted the seal of the rear door on the wrong side. It should be on the right so that it seals the cabinet to the right with the strip when closed. This probably means there is an open gap on the right side of the cabinet. I would get a new seal from IKEA’s spare parts department and retrofit it if you want.

Best regards
Andreas

I was able to shift the door closing module a little to the right - I can now pull out the drawers, but it’s still not 100% optimal... they are now scraping along the door...

I don’t understand the part about the gasket - which gasket? That felt-like strip?

And what I also don’t understand - in the mounting instructions for the door, step 27, it looks like the narrow aluminum door cover is supposed to be mounted on the left side. But then there would be a gap when the doors are closed?!

so...there must be something wrong in the instructions...I have now mounted the aluminum covers as shown in the instructions...

Look for yourself - that can’t be right. When closed, there remains a very wide gap - and the situation with the drawers hasn’t improved either...they still scrape along the front door...

On the right side (where the wide cover is now), it looks quite good, but the door is now hard to open because you can no longer properly grip it...

And here is the assembly instruction step 27 - it is clearly visible that the wide cover is supposed to be mounted on the right...

Hello,

I also spent the whole day today trying to install the doors including the door stoppers. I have the same problem.

Doors do not close far enough --> therefore the drawers in the cabinet cannot be opened. The angle (as seen in the picture) prevents the doors from being opened wide enough.

I also noticed the described error in the assembly instructions. I also mounted the trim strips back and forth. As described in the instructions, it is definitely wrong!

It would be nice if someone has a solution to the problem. I already suspected that Lygdal and the stopper system are not compatible.
