Hello everyone,
I am currently considering options for privacy protection for our bathroom window.

Clear glass would be my favorite because of the uniform facade design, but my boyfriend finds curtains impractical in the bathroom. He leans towards frosted glass.

Now I came across frosted glass film, which can also be applied afterwards. Advantage: I can stick it on only when I realize in the finished house that it is really too visible for me. It could also be applied only on the lower part of the pane.

My concern now is that the film might eventually come off due to steam (and I like to take long, very hot showers...).

Does anyone have experience with this? Or are there completely different ideas for privacy protection?

Thanks in advance!

We are also considering applying frosted glass film - there is also a version without adhesive, using only electrostatic adhesion; try searching for Aingoo window film on Amazon.

Has been working for us in the bathroom upstairs for 1 year! Cutting the edges was problematic. I used film from Bauhaus. Next time I will remove the strips around the window and attach the film directly to the edge without cutting.

Basically, I would install regular clear glass! That way, all options remain open later. If it is clear that it definitely has to be opaque (bathroom window directly on the heavily frequented sidewalk...), then frosted glass as well as satin glass or "Mastercarre" can be considered. Frosted glass is rather old-fashioned anyway.

Currently, we still use the roller shutter, but we want to install a pleated blind soon. In the past, in a rental apartment, we also applied film, which held firmly without problems and may still be on there.

We have had a frosted glass film (from Hellweg) on the windows in our rental apartment for 1.5 years. Nothing has come off yet.

The professional films hold really well, nothing peels off and they are available in various designs. Privacy and light permeability can each be selected.

You can also order them to exact measurements, so you don’t have to cut anything.
