Tomorrow, I only have one from the other side, since I can hardly go onto the neighbor's property now, but then you can see what is meant. This side is not yet so badly affected, it is also not the weather side.

What has to be said about it, the gable on the weather side disappears at about a little over halfway into the neighbor's roof

I thought while reading that the entire gable is clad with wood. So it’s about the corridor rafter, purlin heads, and the eaves. Here I would definitely only repaint with a proper wood paint. Depending on how the other side looks, you don’t necessarily need to sand everything beforehand. In the photo, it still looks pretty good.

No. It doesn’t look good on closer inspection. But it can probably still be saved. This should be done this spring. Really. Both sides.
