Although it's a bit off-topic, I would be interested in your opinion on Okal Haus and Streif Haus and which alternatives to Büdenbender you see.

Unfortunately, I am digressing in the same direction, but I read that there seem to be experts here who know almost all manufacturers. I could also use such a connoisseur of the scene. This huge range and the large price differences sometimes confuse me quite a bit. I am digging through offers and catalogs, and with each catalog, the confusion increases :-( The model home exhibitions we visited did not help us much either. Somehow you always feel like you are being watched by the salespeople, and that puts pressure on you. After all, it is an important decision for the whole family. Can someone tell me something about Schwabenhaus and Fingerhaus? I have already read about them several times and have also seen houses, and I would really like to know if there are people who have more recent experiences with these two manufacturers???

Alternatives to Büdenbender, I do see some (Weberhaus or Kern-Haus), but why do you want to hear them at all? - they all focus on privately insured customers, and you want to do the wiring yourself. Your "friends" are more to be found where shell houses are in the program: those providers like the idea that the builder contributes his own work. Turnkey manufacturers don’t like that or deliberately pass this clientele on to a shell house sister company. From my point of view, Okal Haus substantially contributed to the cardboard-box image of prefab houses back then and hasn’t developed much away from it. Their attempts to gain market share in the representative bungalow segment brought them about as much as Opel did with the Commodore. I also associate Streif Haus with the time when prefab houses were supposed to be sold via mail-order catalogs.

In the 80s, I could have told you in my sleep the most suitable partner for your house wishes. Back then, however, they were mostly still family businesses founded by the grandfather of the current owner once as an innovative carpenter. Meanwhile, almost all the names that earned a reputation back then have been bought up by some holdings and turned into brands within their sales portfolios. The farmer’s smell of owner management is nearly gone everywhere. Therefore, today I can only advise you: don’t let yourself be corrupted by who has the better photographers among them, but have a specialist compare the construction performance descriptions.
