You can also do home office and homework well outside.
But maybe it really depends on the residential area. Unfortunately, there are no warm nights here, or precisely 2 nights over 20 degrees this year.
And then that is also subjective.

No, sorry, I need my two large monitors at home, a proper keyboard, and above all a proper combination of desk/swivel chair with correct height proportions to each other. Otherwise, working from home ends up causing back/neck pain, and without the two monitors, it’s often frustrating.

And my husband sits outside with the laptop.

Everyone has to consider for themselves how their life looks and how it fits. I can only provide food for thought here.

But I believe the most important aspect is the place of residence.

Those who do not have to "really" work in the home office can choose it based on the location and the terrace. Those who work intensively and sit at the computer need a proper office with the correct equipment.

Sorry, but that’s too general...
Working outside is ergonomically not possible at all.
But at least now I understand where many prejudices against home office come from...
Attached is my workplace (untidy). There’s no "I sit on the terrace," not to mention the chair and the height-adjustable desk...

That has nothing to do with working "properly." Some people need the equipment, others just slouch in the office chair and don't care. Not every job requires two large monitors, and even the terrace seating area can be designed ergonomically. Most office chairs have wheels anyway;)

By saying that the place of residence is decisive, I meant more the necessity of shading. Here we mostly have cool nights and not so many hot days; in other areas, it is apparently different.

I just find the statement that shading is absolutely necessary to be inaccurate. Everyone is different; one person likes warmth, another doesn't. And not everyone works in the home office (probably very few do).
