Hi,

today our prefabricated house (timber frame construction) was delivered and is being assembled. Luckily, it didn't rain anymore, but the house was a bit damp/wet in some places. The base slab was still wet as well. They are building the house anyway, with the note that it will dry out again now. The next few days are supposed to be nice weather here and temperatures will be over 30 degrees. How do you see it? Should we possibly expect mold or similar issues if the house does not dry completely? Is such a timber frame prefabricated construction sensitive if it rains a bit during assembly?

Best regards and looking forward to your answers!

That does not affect the house at all, no worries! Only the exposed insulation should be covered. That little bit of water (as long as it is not heavy rain) will definitely not lead to mold.

With us, it started drizzling while setting up! It caused quite a bit of stress for the squad. In the evening, dryers were also set up.

Next to us, a kindergarten was built using timber frame construction, and the walls stood for about two weeks in wind and weather (often rain) without a roof and without any foil covering, etc., before construction continued. During that time, it rained quite heavily at times, and just the sight of it pained me.

The only important thing is that the insulation inside does not get properly wet. According to prefab house manufacturers, the material is replaced once the house is completed. In the case of the kindergarten, this did not happen. But it doesn't matter there because the kindergarten was built for the city anyway, and then the taxpayer will pay for it at the next renovation.
