Here is a quote from the WWW:
The OP can now check what applies to him (if not already done). He himself has not yet commented on the matter.

My wife and I were both above the maximum limit of 10,000. Immediate repayment was about 7,700 € each, so definitely better than 10,000 € at the end monthly without interest...
The 7,700 € in the bank with daily interest was definitely the worse choice.

Although it was about 15xxx € less equity, it meant one less worry per month for a long time.

However, one must also distinguish here whether it is a BAföG loan, student loan, or education loan. In the latter case, as far as I know, you do not get anything forgiven upon full repayment.

Best regards

If you are at 16T €, you will no longer get below 10T €. 5 years, 12 months, 550€ -> 33T €/2 = 16.5T € debt... From 16.5T € you are always above 10T €

Somehow now everyone is taking advantage of the [bafög loan]^^

It doesn't help if the whole setup doesn't work^^

Above all, the BAföG loan is trivial.

In practice, almost no one is interested. Others have an overdraft of 10,000 EUR with that income. No one would be interested in that either.
