Hi,

what is that supposed to achieve?

Seriously now. Either you really have a construction issue, or you have ears like a lynx and are, and I mean this no offense, maybe a bit sensitive.

These thermal insulation bricks of course do not provide optimal soundproofing, but it can’t be that bad. Prior advice would have been good..... but now the cat is out of the bag and you should either live with it or pay an expert who might identify a defect.

But don’t cover your walls with plasterboard on top of that expensively.

So you mean you have no idea, no advice – and apparently no clue either – and what a builder should have done before, he probably knows now too!

Well, thanks again for this "help".

Best,
Tomtom.

Hi,

without knowing the exact cause, I will not present anyone here with any ridiculous idea. He should seek professional advice and that's that. No one in the forum can help because no one can get an impression of the actual circumstances.

Amateurish advice doesn't help either

@bauX2011:

You definitely need an expert, preferably a publicly appointed and sworn (öbuv soundproofing) one, to take a look at the whole thing. If they find defects, they can then write a report. If you have not yet paid your final invoice, it is within your rights to deduct the costs of the report from the next payment to your construction company. Without an expert, you will definitely not be taken seriously at all by your contractual partners! Only in this way do you have a chance to assert your rights and obtain appropriate repairs. Unfortunately, this is completely normal in construction.

Here is something on this topic from

German Society
for Masonry Construction e.V.
1st edition 2006
Information sheet on sound insulation according to DIN 4109

"Protection against outdoor noise:
The requirements of DIN 4109 for airborne sound insulation
of exterior components are established as
the resulting sound insulation value of the entire exterior component
(e.g., exterior wall with window) depending on the relevant external noise level.
They are currently undisputed and
are to be regarded as generally accepted rules of technology.
As a rule, the sound insulation of the
window determines the resulting sound insulation of the
exterior wall. In cases of high outdoor noise exposure
(noise level range ≥ V) and windows with high
sound insulation, attention must be paid to an adequate design
of the exterior wall. If the outdoor noise spectrum contains high proportions in the low-frequency
range (≤ 200 Hz), it should be ensured
that the sound insulation of the selected components
does not experience a resonance-like
drop in this range."

Exactly these resonances seem to be the case with you. But this must be assessed by an expert!
