Hi guys,

to visually separate our living room from the dining room, I am currently planning to build a podium. Since I am a carpenter, my idea was to build a substructure from [KVH], cover it with OSB boards, and then execute a normal screed construction on top. The background is that the underfloor heating must also work there, otherwise we won't get the room warm!! ([House is in shell construction, all options open]).

Between the [KVH] woods that will be arranged at a 90° angle to each other, the cavity will be filled with Rockwool to absorb some of the sound.

Does anyone have constructive suggestions for improvement? Critical comments are also welcome!!

best regards

Schnail

A platform is always a tripping hazard! That would be my criticism

That would also be my consideration, whether a platform really makes sense. As for the setup, I lack the necessary expertise. Maybe will read the thread and can give you information.

How big is the whole room? That you want to separate the living room from the dining room by a raised level?

I don't want to offend anyone, but this is not about the meaning and purpose of the platform, but about the technical execution. Whether we want that has already been considered a long time ago. Therefore, I would be very grateful for hints on the implementation .....

It would be great if someone could write something about it.
