It depends on where you are building. We are currently building in the Tübingen area and here we MUST commission a structural analysis to obtain the building permit approval. In addition to checking the plans, spot checks are also necessary. This is due to seismic zone 3 – here is a link from Reutlingen, which is right on the border.

    [*
Technical construction verifications (§ 9 LBOVVO)
      [*][LIST]
      [*]Structural safety verification
      [*]Soundproofing verification

Explanation of the structural safety verification (§ 10 LBOVVO) Note: Reutlingen is divided into seismic zones 2 and 3. Seismic zone 2 includes:
Sickenhausen, Altenburg, Rommelsbach, Sondelfingen, Reicheneck, Oferdingen, and Mittelstadt.
In seismic zone 2, usually only a technical construction check (structural analysis) is required for larger commercial or agricultural projects and larger residential buildings.
Seismic zone 3 includes:
Reutlingen – city center, Bronnweiler, Degerschlacht, Gönningen, Ohmenhausen, and Betzingen.
In seismic zone 3, a technical construction check is generally required for all construction projects with habitable rooms or commercial or agricultural use (§ 18 LBOVVO).

That means structural analysis MAY be mandatory for your construction project in BW.

So far, we have only paid for the plan review; the visits are still pending. The fee depends on the size of the enclosed space. We have estimated about ~3500€.

Thank you very much for the answers. We will build in Schömberg. Seismic zone 0. Then I have hope that we can save ourselves the review statics.
