Hello,

we are in the final stages of planning our house and floor plan, but the topic of the fireplace and chimney is really giving us trouble. Our desired position for the chimney was not approved due to the roof slopes, so we have to rethink.

We are now considering a panoramic fireplace, which is also supposed to function as a kind of room divider. We like, for example, this one:

What I am now wondering - where would the chimney go in this case? Does it necessarily have to be behind the fireplace, i.e., between the wall and the fireplace? Or can it also be above the fireplace?? Surely this is how it was solved in the fireplace in the picture (or it is behind/in the wall)? I don’t know exactly how that is supposed to work, since the chimney is built during the shell construction of the house and thus the lower part of the chimney would have to be removed later in order to place the fireplace there?

Maybe someone can clarify this for me.

Many thanks
Sebastian

There are complete solutions from various providers where the combustion chamber is integrated directly into the chimney. Then the draft is fully installed and must be lifted into the building.

But all of this comes at a price

Ok, I understand. How was it probably solved in the example I showed? The link was removed (sorry about that), so I’m uploading the image directly (that’s allowed, right?). Do you or someone else know an example of a fireplace built directly into the chimney?

Many thanks.

Hm, with the fireplace in the picture, I assume that the flue gas is vented into a chimney behind it. Otherwise, I wouldn't know where the condensate drain, cleaning opening, etc. would be located. The best thing will be to go to a stove fitter and get information. P.s.: Are you sure you want to clean these panes?

It's a pity that there is no picture included anymore!

What kind of nonsense is this with the images? If you name the source of the image, it is okay; if the photographer did not want to show it, he would not have uploaded it to the internet.

P.S or does the photo come directly from the photographer and has never been online?
