Hello forum members,
I need some advice from you about filling up our property...
We are building in the second row and the new street that also connects to our property was constructed so high that we have to fill up about 90 cm (including the terrain slope) to reach the level of the street... :(
The question is: What is the best material to fill the garden with? The soil here is quite clayey, so water tends to stand longer after rain before it seeps away. If I only use former topsoil, I’m afraid the water won’t find its way down anymore... So is it better to put the first half meter of sand as a storage medium and the top 40 cm with the previous topsoil for flowers and hedges? Or simply create a slight slope on the property so the water can eventually drain away (yes, not towards the neighbor :) )?
Thank you!
