Don’t like calculating what pays off ;) But if I get paid for the system NOW, I don’t care about the future at first. However, if the system is only supposed to pay off in 20 years, I have a lot of unknown factors over that time – repairs, failures, performance losses, cleanings, possibly changing legal requirements, etc.

But it could still be optimized a bit if my wife were more consistent about not running the washing machine or dryer in the evening/night or programming it for 6:30 in the morning ;). But I guess that’s just complaining at a high level. It’s not always possible with two little dirt spots. Besides, one shouldn’t live for the house (the photovoltaic system), but with ... .

You still support your heat pump with the photovoltaic system, I believe. Of course, your quota will be lower there. The ratio between power consumption for the heat pump and support through self-consumption probably won’t be impressive, which naturally affects the overall result.


I really consider a max. 30% feed-in quota very ambitious. As far as I know, you also can’t just let the "overproduction" "fizzle out" because it is always fed in. It would only "fizzle out" with an off-grid solution – i.e., if you are independent (disconnected) from the grid. But this is not approved in Germany and wouldn’t be helpful in winter, for example, if you suddenly find yourself in the dark.
