Hello,

in our construction description it states that the facade will have a cladding with clinker bricks with mineral fiber insulation as core insulation, and perimeter insulation in the base area. At the outer corners, there will be a permanently elastic sealant with an expansion joint.

Well, then it says that such permanently elastic sealants require maintenance and are not covered by the warranty.

But if that is in the base area underground, you can’t maintain it, can you? Or am I missing something?

Best regards

Hello,

as I read this, the expansion joint refers to the cladding, i.e., above the existing terrain. The perimeter insulation is then used in areas that come into contact with the soil and are still in the splash water zone. Expansion joints are always maintenance joints and must be repaired/replaced from time to time.
