Pellet stove vs. wood stove

A pellet stove requires a power connection and regular maintenance. Pellets cost €0.25/kg, which is also more expensive than wood briquettes (€0.2/kg) or firewood. Unlike the others, I would consider a side panel made of soapstone as sufficient storage. You can regulate any stove.

What is so bad about the power connection? The few watts of power consumption are ridiculous. Which regular maintenance do you mean? The chimney sweep comes as usual and that's it. And the ash is not even worth mentioning. Every Sunday I empty the small ash pan, that's all. No comparison to a wood log fireplace.

If you do it for the coziness (and of course as warming support), then I think nothing beats a regular stove. But pellets have their advantages, on-off is also push-button. However, for me, it's not cozy enough somehow. I need the typical wood fire :)
