Paying for the soil survey yourself, even though it is included in the construction contract?

Hello,

we faced the same "problem," we then decided on the "own" geotechnical survey. We basically did not want any connection between the house builder and the surveyor, especially since significant costs may be involved with the survey and independence was important to us... Maybe too cautious, but well. However, we had not yet made a decision but wanted the plot and in my opinion, one should not buy land without a geotechnical survey.
