Yes, I would. The costs are simply too high for me here. Find something that has as low costs as possible compared to the return.

That wasn't meant like that. If you keep the building savings contract, you of course continue to pay in. Otherwise, terminate it.

The crux is: You only get the employer's savings allowance paid out if you have a building savings contract or savings plan. So the method of putting it under the mattress is out.

I have an ETF savings plan. Set up just this month. I created it myself with an online broker. Such a savings plan probably doesn't count for paying the VwL on it, right? Otherwise, my girlfriend and I could have the VwL run on it.

Since we both have taxable incomes over €17,900 and also €25,600, we don't get any more support anyway, do we?

The building savings contract is sensible when it is used for housing-related purposes later on. So, for the house. For example, there should be a winter garden in 2030. That is too little for a real mortgage at around twenty thousand, but just right with a building savings contract. You then have 10 of your own money and get cheaply 10 to 15 on top without much fuss, special repayments possible, without land register entry. K.

It must be a separate VWL savings plan. That’s why I’m with Ebase for it. It has nothing to do with a regular ETF savings plan that you can run or stop as you like. To my knowledge, the contributions run for 5 years, after which you have to hold the securities for (at least?) 2 more years before you can sell.

Hello. How do I proceed if I want to use a VWL savings plan? Should I ask my employer if they support something like that? And then look for a bank that offers something like that and then inform the employer? My girlfriend works in accounting at EDEKA. They also have their own bank. They certainly support something like that. My VWL goes into the BAV. I shouldn’t change anything there, right?
