Hello!

The weather is nice, now the outdoor facilities are next. The following question has come up. We want to lay a path directly by the house, can I pave right up to the brickwork, or should the gravel strip be laid first? Or maybe a curb stone at the brickwork and then the paving?

Hello.

So, we paved the driveway and path in front of the house directly up to the base plaster. At the junction, we left about 1-2 cm of space and filled it with gravel and sand (to avoid stress from expansion of the paving). Both driveway and path have an appropriate slope away from the house...

I can't say if that's correct, but so far we haven't had any negative experiences. It actually shouldn't get damp there, since the basement is insulated / protected against moisture and the paving has a slope.

This is what it looks like by the way

Best regards
Andi

Ok, that makes sense, so when laying the [Kantensteine] as a path border, plan the distance to the house so that the stones fit without cutting and there is still a little space left to the house wall! That should work! Thank you!
