Thank you very much for the many ideas and feedback. That helped us a lot.

We have now decided that the most important thing is actually storage space for jackets and coats. Therefore, instead of the shelves on the right, we have now planned an additional clothes rail with enough space underneath for a long coat to fit there. Below that, instead of shelves, we have three drawers for scarves and hats – that should actually be enough. At the very top, we then still have shelves for bicycle helmets, etc.

Great! I would make the rods variable in height. Then you can leave out the lower one later and move the other one if necessary.

And as a note for the rod division ... really measure the length of a jacket on the hanger. Because depending on the hanger, an additional 10 to 15 cm can quickly be added to the jacket length. So maybe choose the lower rod on the left side more towards 80 / 90 cm for the children, so as Yvonne writes, definitely keep it variable.

And maybe try out beforehand whether you like the height of the poles. I guess they are about 1.8/1.9 m? That would be too high for me, but I am also rather a dwarf.

That looks successful. The assembly will certainly take place inside the house. Just lay the most important jackets out for the carpenter.

For dwarfs, there is the lower rod and a "grab pole"...
