Parquet ship deck floating or glued?

Hello!

We are about to decide whether to glue down the parquet or lay it floating. Gluing was recommended to us (floor is quieter, better heat conduction of the underfloor heating, sanding, etc.) We tend to prefer floating though (you can replace it eventually, installation should be easier). And we somehow have concerns about the adhesive in the bedroom.

How did you do it or what are your experiences?

Is currently a hot topic for us, I would definitely prefer the bonding. It is really much quieter, heat conduction is also better, and replacing it at some point is not an argument. You can get it out well again with suitable agents. There are really good solvent-free adhesives.....

I would also tend to glue. And suddenly it is quite possible for a material price of 25-30 euros. Certainly, there are only 4mm of good wood on top, but you can sand it twice as well. You do that once in 10 years and after 20 years the look doesn’t matter to you anymore anyway. The quality of the samples I had for the price was consistently good. But now it will be vinyl [emoji853]

No offense, but 4mm wear layer can be sanded once, if you're lucky(!). Especially since sanding and re-oiling/sealing can exceed the material cost. There's no fooling yourself about that.

Glued floors are grooved, chiseled out, and then the glue is sanded off. Lots of work and mess.

Better to just put a proper covering on right away!
