Unfortunately, I can only photograph it against the window so that it is visible.
It hardly sticks anymore.
But visually, it is just rubbish.
Some floorboards shine, others are matte as if they haven’t absorbed any oil.
I have actually already considered leaving it as it is and seeing if it disappears on its own over time (due to wear).

Answer: It looks in the photo as if the oil has been absorbed to different degrees by different floorboards. Because glossy and matte parquet surfaces can be seen. I can only suspect the following: Professionally oiled and polished parquet surfaces (this removes/absorbs excess applied oil) do not shine. I think that is the reason for the (in my opinion unacceptable) surface appearance. ----------------- Regards: KlaRa

Yes, that will be the case. The question is how this condition can be remedied? From what I have done and researched so far, I am now leaning towards orange peel oil as the next step.

You already have too much oil on the parquet and want to oil it again with orange oil?

Can't it be polished (without additional oil) until the surface appearance becomes more even? It seems as if there is still too much oil on some spots.

Please inform yourself about orange peel oil. Then you will know why...
