Parking space in front of the house? Distance?

We are currently considering what we want; we have now agreed on the house and the plot. Only the car parking spaces are now causing problems. However, that also depends on how the house is positioned.

The building limit towards the street is 3 m. We are now thinking of building a simple carport/garage from the street on the right side of the house (north). The second car should then park lengthwise in front of the house. Is it allowed to pave the 3 m between the house and the building limit as a parking space? Would that be enough space for a small car (Corsa, Fiesta, etc.)?

Or do we have to see if we can get a double carport next to the house? That would only make the garden on the south smaller. We possibly want to avoid that.

I’m doing that. Gravel will be put on it. Pebbles. 2.50 wide. Another 2.50 remain to the house.

Paving can be credited towards the floor area ratio in different ways. Some state building codes (or development plans) also require a 5m distance between the street and the carport, even if the house only needs a 3m distance.

I do not understand the question of whether a Polofiestacorsa is satisfied with a 3m wide parking space.

It is not supposed to become a port, but a parking lot parallel to the road on private land. If you don’t pave it, but only gravel it, it is outside the floor area ratio. Karsten

One must, if available, read the development plan. Sometimes a gardening design is required.

Whether a space can be used as a parking lot also depends on how one accesses it. As a rule, there will only be one entrance. Then one has to see ...

We spoke with a construction company yesterday, their recommendation was not to do that and simply move the house further south and then have two parking spaces in the north. After looking at it, we also found that to be the better solution.
