Own performance for tile work / remaining work for sanitary installation

Hello,

we have agreed with the developer that the tiling work (wall and floor) will be done by us on our own. Before the official acceptance, the developer does not allow "external" craftsmen on the construction site. The idea now was that we do an acceptance after completion of all trades including sanitary installation (as far as possible without tiling work); then we do the tiling work and afterwards the sanitary company (on the part of the developer) does the remaining work and there will be a "small acceptance" for this.
- Which work in the bathroom can only be done after the tiling work? (Setting the bathtub and shower tray is done before the floor/wall tiling work, right? Setting the toilet and washbasin + corresponding fittings after the tiling work)
- One shouldn’t take a risk with this approach, or should one?

Understandable.


No, you "would not" take a risk; but I hardly believe that your builder will agree to this, as the question of warranty could arise. For example: if you notice after moving in that tiles were damaged or similar – who was it then? To prevent this, strictly speaking, another acceptance would have to take place after your own work.

I assume you also purchased the sanitary equipment from your builder. How about installing the rest yourself as well – after the own tile work and only for the bathroom/toilet? Then only the final installation remains: installing the toilet and hand basin including fittings as well as toilet paper and towel holder. The two interior doors actually belong to this as well, but maybe you can negotiate a deal with your builder here.
